English version of the introduction
We’re an average couple living in our 50s, our life together had some ups and downs but when we look back on it now, the best word to describe our first half of a century is HAPPINESS. Our thoughts and actions were always filled with love, friendship and respect. The things we focused most on were family, work, hobbies and friends.
Then begins a story in which we’re both inevitably a part of now. Tiny health issues started becoming more and more specific, which led us to a neurologist, and after the first appointment our thoughts and actions we’re marked and changed forever. “Sir, you have Parkinson’s. The disease is incurable. There is some medication available, and combining that with an active lifestyle, you could still successfully manage and reduce its progress.”
Up to that point I was always involved in sports and different outdoor activities like hiking, cycling, skiing and swimming, so me and my wife weren’t that scared by the doctors instructions at first, but we soon realised that a kind recommendation like that is not nearly enough for maintaining my physical abilities. After a long period of giving up, feeling lost and feeling the burden pressing down on me and my family, we all actively started to look for professional help together. Only after putting my physical abilities to a test and receiving some individual therapies from different specialists for a year, I could return to different activities, that were a part of my life before my diagnosis. With a lot of hard work I can now function in my everyday life, but the need for guidance and help from different specialists is not nearly finished for me.
We’re at the very beginning of designing and creating this website and we believe that we can also build and enlarge it with the help of our readers too. We’ll be collecting any ideas and knowledge, that could benefit at spreading the information which could help improve the everyday struggles of anyone coming in contact with Parkinson’s. Everything we write on this website is either our personal opinion or experience. We’ll be also quoting literature, that helps us broaden our horizons and gives us new ideas on this matter.
Our intention is to connect people and collect stories about their successful symptom management. Feeling lost and feeling the lack of useful information in the first stages of the disease can be even worse than the condition itself. Lets do something good for each other, lets share our experiences and thoughts, we’re positive that we’re all stronger together as one.
My and my wife are not focusing on the causes of the disease as much, we’re putting our focus on things and answers that make our body and cells feel good and healthy, things that give the cells what they need to function fully. Literature, knowledge in medicine, exchanging experiences and thinking with our hearts is what helps us two the most.
Our key to good health is FLOW. Cells that can give and receive without any obstacles are healthy cells. But what are the factors that can stand in the way of a healthy flow?
